Why Choose BUR-HAN for your lawn care package?

  1. We offer a choice of Premium polymer coated or Organic slow release fertilizers.
  2. We don’t use moss control ( a blend of fertilizer and powdered ferrous sulfate).
  3. We spray a commercial grade ferrous sulfate solution that we mix for our local climate to kill moss, and it is applied by our boom and tank trucks.
  4. We only use Premium Dolopril lime.
  5. We apply our fertilizers based on the size of your lawn so that it gets the right amount of nutrients.

Spring Package

This is our recommended package that we apply from late February to May. This packages gives your lawn an early start with the right nutrient balance to ensure it has a healthy base to remain healthy and vibrant all summer long. Our Spring Package includes 2 visits and these 4 distinct products: Deep Core Aeration, Lime, Fertilization and Moss Spray.

Choose a Spring Package if:

  1. You’re a do-it-yourself-er that wants the right start to the year but will do the rest of the season’s fertilizing yourself.
  2. We recommend this package for anyone who has moss in their lawn and even if you don’t have any.  Iron and sulfur are important micro nutrients for lawns.

Plus Package

Our Plus Package includes 6 visits and these 8 distinct products: Deep Core Aeration, Lime, Fertilization, Moss Spray, Second Spring Fertilization, First Summer Fertilization, Second Summer Fertilization and Winterizer Application.

Choose a Plus Package if:

  1. You want professional help for the whole season and moss spray.
  2. You want the benefits of spring aeration to develop the root zone.
  3. Your want to develop a strong healthy turf.

Premium Package

The Premium Package includes all the elements of our Spring and Plus Packages with additional Fall Deep Core Aeration and Fall Lime Application to ensure your lawn stays healthy through Vancouver’s cold and wet winters season. It includes 6 visits and 10 distinct products.

Choose a Premium Package if:

  1. You want all the benefits of the Plus Package.
  2. You have a lot of traffic on your lawn.
  3. You want to improve winter drainage to prevent turf damage due to puddling.
  4. You have a lot of evergreens on or surrounding your property.
  5. You want to balance the ph of your soil all year.

Turf Developer Package

This is our ultimate package and includes all the elements of our other three packages with the additional lawn development applications of Spring Over Seeding and 3 Wetting Agent Applications spread through the spring, summer and fall to ensure your new grass develops to it’s full potential. It includes 9 visits and 14 distinct products.

Choose a Turf Developer Package if:

  1. You want all the benefits of the Premium Package.
  2. You want to develop newer, greener, more disease and drought resistant varieties of grasses in your turf.
  3. You want the benefits of a wetting agent.

Lawn Package Details:

Lime

To adjust the PH of the typically acidic soils in Greater Vancouver we use dolomite lime. The product is called Dolopril and is a very finely ground lime spun into a pellet with a forest product. It has a brown outer coating which looks like dirt and will dissolve when it comes into contact with water. This is a premium lime, unlike powder consumer versions which contain a lot of carrier.

Moss Spray

A spray of sulfur and iron is applied to moss in spring and fall. Spring moss spray will allow your grass to get ahead of moss and get firmly established. A fall moss spray will stop moss from getting too far ahead of the grass during the mild winters that let moss grow. The spray will turn the moss black and it will slowly shrink over the next few months. We do not recommend removing the moss after it is black as it weakens and removes some of the remaining grass and leaves open areas that weeds are free to start in.

Over-Seeding

Over-seeding provides newer varieties of grass to your turf so that it is more disease and drought resistant, our blend contains Fescue, Ryegrass and Bluegrass. Over-seeding rejuvenates your lawn without the high expense of re-turfing.

Wetting Agent

Our wetting agent contains natural ingredients that allows the even distribution of moisture throughout the lawn during dry periods and will prevent browning. It is applied three times during the season.
